Select Start Settings Personalization Taskbar and then scroll down to the notification areaChoose Select which icons appear on the taskbar and then turn on the Power toggle. Previously the icons for add-ons eg noscript the weather or reminders were displayed at the bottom of my screen and I could click on them to perform the relevant function.
Go to advanced options from the menu. To add the battery icon to the taskbar select Start Settings Personalization Taskbar and then take a look at the notification area. Before you just pressed battery icon and you could choose the steps of power quickly.
Expand the list for the Batteries entry.
You will see the power options properties window on your laptop screen. Go to Control panel from Start menu Control Panel. If you still dont see the battery icon go back to the Taskbar settings and click on the Select which icons appear on the taskbar link from the Notification area section. My power icon has morphed into a Dropbox icon in one of the windows.
